 Emergency Flashers

My brother sent me this...I am sure it has been around...but the first time I have seen it:

A car gets a flat on the interstate one day.
flat tire!

The blonde driver eases it over onto the shoulder of the road, carefully steps out of the car and opens the trunk. She takes out two cardboard men, unfolds them and stands them at the rear of the vehicle facing on coming traffic. The lifelike cardboard men are in trench coats exposing their nude bodies and private parts to approaching drivers. Not surprisingly, the traffic becomes snarled and backed up.

It isn't very long before a police car arrives.

The officer, clearly enraged, approaches the blonde of the disabled
vehicle yelling, "What's going on here?"

"My car broke down, officer" says the woman calmly.

"Well, what the hell are these obscene cardboard pictures doing here by the road?" he asks.

"Helllooooooo!! !!" says the blonde."Those are my emergency flashers!"

It is gray, humid, and nasty looking outside. Tonight we will get our counter offer on the house and the back and forth begins. yay.

Hubby will be gone for the week...most of it anyway. It just makes it tougher to do that paperwork.

All else seems to be quiet on the eastern front...for now.

Got myself a new phone...home and cell. So now I have the task of distributing the new #'s. AND entering them. It all comes down to teenagers sabotaging the cell plan.

 Soda Thru the Nose

Yesterday TJ's gf and his best bud, Steve showed up to the cookout. Bethany didn't invite any friends becuz she was in one of her 'moods'.

Steven acted quite put out that we asked Troy's sister and her significant other to remod the house if we get it. AS IF! I'm sorry but one year of JVS does not a professional remodeler make. I told him he'd be working this summer anyway. He said he'd have weekends free. I told him we want to move before next summer.

THEN I said something about TJ looking forward to getting his job at (retail chain) and that he would be raking in the BIG BUCKS...laff laff guffaw! I also said, "At least he will be good for something...10% discount that his mama can use!" TJ also said, "Yeah...the gf is looking forward to that too." And Steve said, "I knew there was a reason I stayed friends with you this long...that it would pay off some day." Hubby looked at Steve and said, "He said Girlfriend, not B***h!" Bethany was sitting by her dad, he had his chair turned sideways, she was taking a drink and when he said that she spit her pop all over her dad's face! THEN we all cracked up!

TJ made the mistake of THEN saying, "There isn't any difference." The look Britney gave him! My husband looked at her and said, "Thanks for cooling off my beans...now I can eat them, they aren't steaming anymore."

Later on, TJ started making fun of his gf's ex-bf's. She just sat there staring daggers at him...THEN she said, "I'm WAY better than all your previous gf's." To which he jumped quick and patted her leg and said, "Yes, you are babe. No question." She tried not to smile and she said, "you disappoint me." And he quickly said, "I disappoint a lot of ppl...don't feel special." And it was MY turn! I laughed so hard the soda I had STARTED to swallow came straight out my nose! OUCH!

Then there is my DAUGHTER the comodian...her voice mail. It sounds like she answered the phone! "Hi! What's up?" You start to talk, she does this 'Ok' THen throws in a 'cool' and it sounds like her...being her smart aleck self then she cuts you off and says, "Okay NOW you can leave a msg." Don't you just want to smack them sometimes?

I can't really complain...they are a product of me.

 The Waiting Room

For the previous post...if you didn't get it...the Theme was 'Home'...becuz we are house hunting...which ties in the video from the show 'House'.

Okay...the papers are signed...the negotiations will begin by Tuesday. We even stopped at an Open House on the way home to look at another house in the neighborhood. It only made me like the house we bid on even more. I feel good about this...yet...if we end up NOT getting it, I won't die. I will be somewhat disappointed but I have lived through lots of disappointments through the years and I have come to terms with the fact that there isn't ANYTHING on this earth (or anyone) that I need to live.

I did the potato salad last night. I did the white chocolate cheesecake this morning. And the beans are in the oven. Hubby is now taking care of the meat. My time to wait.

Lived through a teenage daughter meltdown this morning. My younger sister has two girls that are 2 1/2 years apart and another girl on the way...due the beginning of August. My condolenses. My son, as uninspired as he can be sometimes, has turned out to be easier than my daughter...her hormonal flip-flops are going to KILL me! She REMINDS me of my youngest sister...to a tea.

Which reminds me of something else...I will be 'on call' with my little sis through the month of July. She isn't due until the first week in August but it turns out my brother-in-law is going to be on business trips out of town that whole month. I don't want to speculate...it would sound like I was being negative. All I know is this...he comes home later and later from work and NOW he is going to Cancun Mexico for two weeks and California for two weeks after that. Nope...not sayin' nuthin'.

If we end up getting this house we just put a bid on, then my sister and her significant other are going to do the basement and kitchen remodel plus put in a half-bath in the basement (only cuz the kids will have their bedrooms down there). He does that for a living and will be having a down time right then. He is VERY good at kitchen remods. Hubby has made all arrangements already. (if you read the paragraph above, it might be good this house has 5 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths).

And Bohemian...I was just watching a lot of HGTV home remod shows...I know what you mean about "What were you thinking" wall colors! I have seen SO many houses with that reddish-purple wall color! I am a more traditional kinda person...neutrals. I like neutral colors like toupe and light yellow...pastels. My daughter has picked out the colors for her room...brown carpet and green walls. She wants it to look 'outdoorsy'. My son wants alternating silver and scarlet walls with black carpeting (Ohio State colors). Everyone has their minds set on moving into that house! I don't know what they'll do if we don't get it!

After the cook-out is done, I have plants to attend to...MY down time.

EVeryone have a blessed Memorial Day Weekend!

Saturday with a Theme for Luck

I thought I would put up another 'theme' song list this week. Last week was a reminiscing about the college coffee house hangout. This week let's see if YOU can see what the theme is and why I might have decided on this particular theme.

Home

And I will throw this one in just cuz...can you figure out the connection?

 Just to Check In....

Hubby got to see the house this morning. At first he was kinda ornery about it. But mainly it was cuz I forgot he was on vacation (and didn't have to get up for work) and he had to get up early anyway to meet the realtor at the house. So, he wasn't happy about that.

But he seemed to like the house really well. He wanted more yard but he is either playing golf all summer OR out on the road. It has plenty of yard.

I am also submitting my resume for another job. sigh. always something.
