It was so freakin' hot yesterday...I got SOME flowers planted and one more garden spot ready for the plants (3 more to go) but the dark clouds rolled in and the thunder started...figured I'd quit and let the rain do its thing. Then it went north of us.
It has been off and on dark/sunny this morning...hot...and now it is getting dark again. The grass has turned crispy and I REALLY want it to rain before I try to put anymore flowers in. Just RAIN!
It isn't doing my headache situation any good either. The pain, the pain!
My daughter and I sat out on the back porch this morning eating breakfast and watching the little critters. Scrawny had her (yes, her) breakfast of walnuts. I put a small ear of corn inside the evergreen bush she hides in sometimes and she carried it off under a tree and nibbled it down. She's getting fat! My fault. I told Bethany that the squirrel always came looking for nuts since she didn't have any of her own. "You LOOKED?" "Well, the squirrel sits on its haunches in front of me and I decided that I just wanted to know what I was dealing with...and I didn't notice anything between its legs when it walked away either." "You're weird."
Bethany was cleaning up the backyard yesterday and swore that when she got close to Scrawny hiding by the tree with her ear of corn, that Scrawny threw a nutshell at her and almost hit her in the butt. I told her that Scrawny is still in her selfish mode and was just trying to protect her corn.
The baby bunny must have been waiting around for its carrots. It was found laying on its side on the warm sidewalk by the porch chewing on the grass.
Bethany said we needed to name it. She wanted to name it 'Lettuce'. I told her that we could change the squirrel's name to 'Turnip' and the robin that keeps those grackels away we can name "Pea'. She just sat there staring at me processing it for a while.
I said, "you have to say it in the right order...Lettuce, Turnip, and Pea."
Again...
"okay, think of a dog. NOW Lettuce Turnip and Pea."
"Mom...you're weird."

Thank you...thank you VERY much!
