This is a rough draft of a movie my son is making. He has some color changes to make AND he made one glaring mistake...see if you can find it. But I like it anyway.

 Just RAIN Already!

It was so freakin' hot yesterday...I got SOME flowers planted and one more garden spot ready for the plants (3 more to go) but the dark clouds rolled in and the thunder started...figured I'd quit and let the rain do its thing. Then it went north of us.

It has been off and on dark/sunny this morning...hot...and now it is getting dark again. The grass has turned crispy and I REALLY want it to rain before I try to put anymore flowers in. Just RAIN!

It isn't doing my headache situation any good either. The pain, the pain!

My daughter and I sat out on the back porch this morning eating breakfast and watching the little critters. Scrawny had her (yes, her) breakfast of walnuts. I put a small ear of corn inside the evergreen bush she hides in sometimes and she carried it off under a tree and nibbled it down. She's getting fat! My fault. I told Bethany that the squirrel always came looking for nuts since she didn't have any of her own. "You LOOKED?" "Well, the squirrel sits on its haunches in front of me and I decided that I just wanted to know what I was dealing with...and I didn't notice anything between its legs when it walked away either." "You're weird."

Bethany was cleaning up the backyard yesterday and swore that when she got close to Scrawny hiding by the tree with her ear of corn, that Scrawny threw a nutshell at her and almost hit her in the butt. I told her that Scrawny is still in her selfish mode and was just trying to protect her corn.

The baby bunny must have been waiting around for its carrots. It was found laying on its side on the warm sidewalk by the porch chewing on the grass.

Bethany said we needed to name it. She wanted to name it 'Lettuce'. I told her that we could change the squirrel's name to 'Turnip' and the robin that keeps those grackels away we can name "Pea'. She just sat there staring at me processing it for a while.

I said, "you have to say it in the right order...Lettuce, Turnip, and Pea."

Again...

"okay, think of a dog. NOW Lettuce Turnip and Pea."

"Mom...you're weird."

Thank you...thank you VERY much!

 Madame President

I have two neices on my side of the family. One of them is just finishing up kindergarten. The youngest is finishing her first year of pre-school.

The oldest one is named Gabriella. We call her Ella for short.

I remember when my sister was pregnant with the second girl. My brother-in-law sent out a list of 5 possible names. I don't remember the names on the list but I do know that 'Samantha' was one of them. I sent an e-mail to my brother-in-law and told him that all the names were pretty but to keep one thing in mind...Samantha would be shortened to 'Sam' and then people would refer to his daughters as 'Sam and Ella' (if you don't get the joke...say it outloud real fast). My brother-in-law being the guy that he is got mad at me! Turns out, they had decided to name her Samantha!

While Ella is more demanding and spoiled with her parents, she is also quite shy with outsiders. Samantha, on the other hand, is VERY independent and not afraid of anything.

My sister told me the other day that when she went to pick Sam up from pre-school the teacher wanted to speak with her. It seems that the teacher noticed "Lisa' had Sam's paper on her desk. When the teacher asked Lisa what she was doing with Sam's paper, Lisa said that Sam told her she'd pay her a quarter to color it for her. So the teacher said she let it go. When Lisa got done with it, she gave it to Sam and turned to go back to her seat. Sam said, "Where are you going? I didn't pay you a quarter to do just ONE paper..." and she held out a bunch more!

My sister said that when 'daddy' got home he told Sam he'd pay her a quarter to help pick up toys and put them away. She said, "Good, cuz I have to pay Lisa."

I told my sister it was good that Ella got over her fright of school. And that when it was time for Sam to attend regular school she would do great...just remember to fill her pockets full of quarters! Frankly, I think she will be President someday.

 The More Things Change...PRESENTING....

For some of you bloggers that were here the first 6-8 months of this blogstream, when I set up my first blog, this had a WHOLE different title. I know I have gone through this before, but if it is boring...sorry!!!

My first blog title was "Dancing on the Edge of the Volcano". I started out using the name 'Nancelia' (another story) then decided I really disliked it...course I never liked it. I wanted something more 'exotic' sounding. I did this rambling post about how I liked the sound of the word 'amnesia' and I liked carrot cake...so I changed my name to Amnesia Carrot Cake. Someone gave me the nickname Neezer...which made me think of Wheezer and since I did not have asthma, AND becuz the whole name was too long, I shortened it to Carrot Cake. Then I got called 'cake' alot!

So, what does that have to do with anything? Well, I miss that first blog title. Even though I don't feel SO much like I'm dancing on the edge of the volcano anymore...I've found answers to some pretty weighty problems so at least I know what changes need to be made (thus the NEW title). However, just recently I was able to find and insert a background I just love on my 'poetry blog'. It is a picture of an erupting volcano. I love the colors! Then one blogger said something on there about sitting on the edge of life...I said I would be dancing on the edge...which reminded another of my first blog title and how they liked it...SO...TADA! I changed the title of my poetry blog to "Dancing on the Edge of the Volcano"!!!

(now wasn't that a long drive just to pull into the next door neighbor's driveway? )
