 The Beginning of Another Week

I am not sure I am looking too forward to this week. I have a lot of mountains to climb. A load of school work...and a math teacher to...uh...straighten out. (that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it). The bad part is that it has just toasted my whole weekend. I wish I was one of those ppl that could set certain things aside and just not let it bother me in the meantime.

To all you Yankees fans that lowered yourselves to blame their second loss to the Indians on some bugs (like, they weren't swarming around the Indians players, too? Oh, and I really doubt the Indians had them trained) you should be right happy that Johnny Damon finally connected with a ball tonight. Finally. So...there were no bugs in NY...what do you blame Old man Clemens' crappy pitching on? ANd how many times did the Yankees have to go to their bullpen? I think the Tribe should have dipped into their bullpen a little sooner than they did...but...they were feeling bad for Torre and decided to give the old guy a break. Which is about as plausible an excuse as the bugs making the Yankees lose. Of course it couldn't be that the Tribe just played better...cuz we all know that Cleveland sports teams stink.

Okay...I got that out of my system.

I will be gone this next weekend. I am going off by myself to NE Ohio to attend the Covered Bridge Festival with my mom and get some good pictures. It is a long drive. That is the point...long drive by myself...no one yapping at me or around me, I can listen to whatever music I want to...or none at all. The hubby and the kids can live without me for a few days. I have a feeling if I make it to Friday, I will be RUNNING out the door.

I Live My Life According to Better Late Than Never

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. For the first weekend of October it was unbearably hot and humid. Where's the cool weather?

Here is a picture of MY MOM'S SIDEYARD fall decorations:

Just Another Day In the Life...

I am okay...just needed to put my feet up and watch a good baseball game. Everything else will be as it is...and I will deal with life later.

Now, where is that guy with my drink order?

I found this posted at Library Cat's blog:

"I just received word that Hailey (Mindpower) has been hospitalized. Her health has been declining for the last two weeks. She was hospitalized this morning for a variety of reasons. They think her lungs have collapsed. Please pray for this courageous young lady whose presence has made the Stream a better place."

"She has double pneumonia and it started with a regular flu.

 Are You Ready to RUMBLE????

I am so thankful to Troy for going to TJ's school today to meet with his program head and the school counselor. My mind has been set at ease about everything. They told him that they do believe he is really physically sick right now and it is NOT his anxiety. His program director also told my husband that she is very impressed with his intelligence and his business demeanor and that once he gets better and is there all the time he will be excellent and she should have NO problems getting him matched up with an employer when he is done at that school. So...whew.

NOW...I have all weekend to practice my wrestling moves. My daughter told me just TODAY when I picked her up from school that her math teacher took her math test away from her Monday (the one she was DONE with before the rest of the class) and told her she was giving her a '0' for cheating!!! Bethany said that when she finished the test, she got into her purse to get out more lead for her pencil to start on the other half she had given them to take home. She pulled out her calculator to get the lead and the teacher accused her of using her calculator on the whole test. She wouldn't even listen to Bethany AND if she had bothered looking she would have seen that the calculator wasn't opened. It has a cover it slides into. Bethany says that she doesn't even think the woman noticed that she was DONE and she couldn't tell her becuz she kept cutting her off and saying, "You got a '0'." I had trouble with this woman at the beginning of the year when she made 'fun' to Bethany's face of her GAD. I made a mistake then by not going after her about it...I didn't want to stir the pot...but I told Bethany if this woman caused anymore problems I was going to land on her with both feet.

Now, I am not a naive person about my kids. They don't sneak much of anything past me. I told them they have 2 things going against them...1) I learned about a lot of tricks by watching my siblings; 2) I was a teacher and saw about everything there is. HOWEVER, I also know my kids very well...and a cheater my daughter isn't. Besides that, even, she has never been blatant about breaking any rules. And that would be blatant...when the teacher tells you that you cannot use a calculator and then she would take her calculator out and use it? Give me a freakin' break. My husband is not happy but he has been trying to get me to calm down. It is a GOOD thing that teacher didn't stick around today becuz I would have stormed into that school and I would have just about clotheslined her. You do NOT want to get me mad...especially anything that has to do with my kids!!!

Speaking of which...that nurse at TJ's school has been handed a reprieve. My husband said he would deal with her...TJ was throwing up in school today and she told him that vomiting didn't prove anything and that she doesn't believe he is sick at all...no matter what the doctor says...becuz you can go into ANY doctor's office and convince them you are sick...and she wants to see the lab reports and x-rays. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! hello...#1...HIPPA laws! #2...why is it everyone else in the school gets it but you, lady continue to be the biggest BEOTCH (with Bethany's math teacher following a close 2nd). Somehow, cyber school is starting to look better. I HOPE to get a reputation with the school staff...at BOTH schools. If they want to take me on....bring it.

 And So It Goes

TJ is starting to do better...he was able to get to school today. I know he has a ways to go before he is feeling good but he is trying.

Bethany is different. I really hated trying ADD meds on her. I thought I would just zombie her out with more pills...she is already taking stuff for anxiety. But, you know...it is so amazing! She has been on the ADD meds for a few weeks now and I have noticed that I don't have to remind her about things. She has not left her lunchbox or gym clothes at school ONCE in the last week and a half. She remembers her homework (and everything else). So cool. I believe she will eventually get better on her own with time, but...cool. That's all I can say. I think she is going to 'kick butt' as she goes out into the world.

The daddy went to have a talk with the school counselor this morning. He should be back soon (or should have been by now). I have always braved these sessions on my own in the past. But I kinda dropped it into his lap...literally...and he picked it up and went with it. I told him that I just refused to deal with these ppl anymore. I just want to go on with life in as normal a fashion as possible and they just keep me stirred up. He wasn't thrilled to have to do it, I'm sure, but he also figured he could put everyone in their place and get them off my back and TJ's back. God bless him.

So, this weekend is all about taking care of the house, the laundry, relaxing with my family...oh, and there IS that GS carnival thing on Sunday afternoon. My daughter's troop is doing some kind of exhibit with hissing cockroaches. And she thinks they are CUTE! I surely hope that doing the Girls in Science thing with her after school doesn't have anything to do with hissing cockroaches...or snakes...or worms...or any bugs at all...cuz then, well, I will just have to excuse myself from the room and pretend I got lost so that I will miss the whole session...and embarrass my daughter...and have to buy her some ice cream...with sprinkles...that look like bugs...and I won't be able to eat it...cuz I don't like bugs...

I forgot what I was posed to be talking about. I got a little side tracked by the whole buggy issue. Does anyone know what the name is for fear of bugs?
