Tuesday....(has it been that long?) had to drive up to TJ's school to get the rest of his work that he didn't get on Monday...rush home to get him in the car and off to his first appt. with his new counselor...I took a back roads way so as to avoid the freeway exchange at rush hour (even though rush 'hour' lasts more like 3 hours). I got a little nervous when I saw a sign that 'welcomed' us into Trotwood...didn't see THAT distinction on the map! Let's say, the only ideas that I have formed about that particular suburb is what I hear on the nightly news...EVERY night. But, it was daylight and didn't look toooo bad. TJ seemed to have a really good first session and emerged with a smile on his face...and seeming more relaxed than he has been in awhile. So...rush back home, gather my books and off to class (which I, again, almost fell asleep in...just HOW can ANYONE make a 2 hour class out of towmotor and rack safety? Like I EVER give a crap! I had to nudge my friend Terry a few times...poor girl kept nodding off!) Then, a stop at the Wally World before getting home.
Wednesday was the crown jewel. The day went fairly quietly. But that night, I got into the kitchen...had my holiday cooking timed out. However, it seems that my daughter's friend Amy was going to spend the night...so of course, TJ's buddy Steven was going to spend the night...so I put the last of our garden tomatoes to use and made spaghetti sauce...for the wheat spaghetti of course... and did some broiled italian bread with artichoke/cheese spread. They ate it ALL! Well, there is some spaghetti left...but not much! Sheesh!
Okay...here comes the GOOD part! I baked a pumpkin pie and peach pie. I was chatting with Bella and took a moment to pull them out of the oven. And I set them on the stove burners...instead of cooling racks...and...I know...you saw it coming...one of the burners was still on low. Under the peach pie....glass pie plates...the girls were in Beth's bedroom...the boys had just stuck their heads in the puter room...the daddy was outside...when we heard this most amazing sound...like crystal raindrops falling. We looked out in the kitchen...glass and peach juice EVERYWHERE! I can't describe it to you! LOL
It took a while but I FINALLY got it cleaned up. Thank God for a 24 hour Kroger. The boys had to take a video back to the rental store by the Kroger...so they got me some more peaches and evaporated milk...what I didn't have any more of...
I waited until the next morning to start over. I got up at 8...and I got everything timed just right and even sat down to eat a little sooner than I thought!
I did NOT get up for the early bird shopping this morning. However, I talked Troy into going to Le Tar-get' store with me in the afternoon. We ended up getting a few things for the official start of Christmas shopping.
We also stopped at Bed, Bath, and Beyond where Troy discovered one-stop shopping for my presents! And, OH....there was this most AMAZING Homedics Shiatsu Massaging Cushion...with heat no less...OH MY GAWD! I told Troy that if it could just earn a paycheck, he would be so very quickly replaced!!! That thing was orgasmic! oh...sorry! LOL But it IS good....oh, so VERY good! I might have to visit that store often...I know I won't get one for Christmas cuz I liked it WAY too much! ; D
