Bethany asked me today what sound a penguin makes. So, we found this site where you just move your cursor over the pictures of the various penguins and you hear the sound they make. We played with it, of course. And now I know...more than I ever figured I wanted to know.

The TV meterologists ALL told us last night to expect 5-10" of snow. We got MAYBE 2...with a wee bit of freezing rain off an on. Schools cancelled and, even though the roads are just wet, my instructor called to inform me that classes were cancelled. I was ready to go! I like that class!

TJ didn't get out of school...um...CYBER SCHOOL!

Hubby had to go to...bad weather didn't get him out of his obligations.

Just thot I'd check in. Nothing much new going on in my life. Same old complications and irritations.

I took both of my kids to get haircuts. They went armed with pictures. My son wanted to look like Dane Cook. I was just happy to see that he was tired of being a Beatle. My daughter didn't have an exact celebrity haircut in mind...but it was cute and different. She has had long, straight hair since it started growing on her head. Parted down the middle. Now it is parted on the side and layered. She suddenly looks older. She doesn't resemble a 12 year old girl anymore. She looks more like 15. I have mixed feelings about that.

I am really liking my Tuesday night class. So many women in there that are my age. In the same quandarry of life. And Rhonda seems to have latched on to me. She can be somewhat of a nut...which I guess is why she latched on to me!

I have decided that once I get a job...I am going to get a place where I can have a backyard I turn into a squirrel sanctuary. I like squirrels. They can get demanding about getting enuff food sometimes...but they are cute and comical. They don't need stroking...they don't demand affection or anything other than a pile of nuts.

Yep...one of them days...weeks...months...shall I continue?

Today is going to be a tough one.

Bethany has gone down into the pits. I don't know what to make of it. She was so sick yesterday...mostly can't breath and a sore throat. This morning I took her temperature. 95.6!!!! So, I try calling the doctor's office (it opens at 8). The phone was busy...BUSY for the first half hour. NOT a good sign. Then I got kicked around for the next 10 minutes...and FINALLY a nurse! Her instructions were to keep her warm and monitor her for a few hours THEN take her to the ER. I took her temp a little bit ago and it went up to 96.5.

So...it looks like at some point today I will be having to take her off to the ER. I know the flu is going around really bad but YIKES! She is the one that when she got really sick her temp would SOAR...and soar fast. I have never known it to go DOWN. This is a new one on me. I know what to do when the temperature goes UP...but now down!

If anyone has any suggestions...
